Dr. Tanner Simpson is a Licensed Psychologist (License Number PSY.0005582) operating in the state of Colorado, holding the position of Chief Executive Officer at SIMPS Psychology. Dr. Simpson's academic journey includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from the University of Wyoming. He subsequently pursued and successfully obtained both a Master's degree and a Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) specializing in School and Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver. It is noteworthy that the University of Colorado Denver's School Psychology Psy.D. program is one of the select few in the country accredited by the American Psychological Association.

In addition to his broader licensure as a psychologist, Dr. Simpson is duly recognized as a Licensed School Psychologist in the state of Colorado. Furthermore, he holds the distinction of being a Nationally Board-Certified School Psychologist, reflecting his commitment to excellence in the field.

During his rigorous graduate education, Dr. Simpson received specialized training in the assessment of individuals spanning various age groups, encompassing toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults. His expertise extends to the evaluation of a wide spectrum of psychological conditions, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, intellectual and executive functioning, developmental delays, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges.

Dr. Simpson's dedication to serving the community is exemplified by his clinical externship at Urban Peak Homeless Shelter. In this capacity, he focused on evaluating and assessing psychiatric disorders among adolescents and young adults experiencing homelessness, thereby contributing to a vulnerable population's well-being.

Furthermore, Dr. Simpson pursued comprehensive training related to autism spectrum disorders during his internship and subsequent year and a half of post-doctoral experience at Firefly Autism, in collaboration with Children's Hospital Colorado. Notably, he gained expertise in the administration of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition (ADOS-2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), both regarded as paramount assessment tools for evaluating autism spectrum disorders.

Dr. Simpson's distinctive background as a licensed psychologist and licensed school psychologist equips him with a remarkable ability to seamlessly navigate between educational and clinical contexts. His profound knowledge of special education laws and procedures, coupled with advanced insights into effective support and intervention implementation within classroom settings, positions him as a valuable advocate for families involved in the Special Education evaluation process.
